Platform South is a Jazz South programme. Platform South bands represent quality and exciting artist talent from the South, selected by industry representatives including regional and national jazz promoters.

DUE TO COVID 19 WE MADE A CHANGE TO THIS PROGRAMME

PLATFORM SOUTH COMMISSIONS

While live performances and touring were not feasible we instead commissioned each of the bands to complete their time on the scheme by creating a new audio work for digital broadcast.

These new audio works were featured alongside interviews with the bands in a 6-part podcast series with Kevin Le Gendre, Jazz South Spotlight, in autumn 2020. Listen to the full series: www.jazzsouth.org.uk/spotlightpodcasts

Platform South Commissions was part of Jazz South Commissions, a three-part programme offering over £30,000 towards commission projects for composers working in jazz and improvisation in the Jazz South Region.
